A well-known American actress has said she listened to a Limerick band to get into character for her upcoming movie. 

Dakota Johnson ,best known for her role as Anastasia Steele in the film series Fifty Shades of Grey, has said she used The Cranberries to get into her latest character, Madame Web.

At a premiere for the new movie in Los Angeles, Dakota revealed she makes playlists for all her characters.

"I do make a playlist for all of my characters and there was a lot of The Cranberries for this one and Foo Fighters. The movie takes place in 2003 and music was different then but it was so great."

The Cranberries were a rock band formed in Limerick and originally named The Cranberry Saw Us,

The band was formed in 1989 by lead singer Dolores O'Riordan , guitarist Noel Hogan, bassist Mike Hogan and drummer Fergal Lawler.
