Applications open for grants for Limerick artists

LIMERICK Arts Office at Limerick City and County Council have announced two open calls for funding.

Grants Under the Arts Act and Made in Limerick grants are now open for artists, community groups, voluntary organisations, and other creatives, to apply for project grants for 2024.

Grants Under the Arts Act funding is to support projects and applications that will inspire public interest in the arts, promote the knowledge, appreciation and practice of the arts or assist in improving the standards of the arts.

In the 2003 Arts Act, the arts are defined as painting, sculpture, architecture, music, film, drama, dance, literature, design in industry and the fine arts and applied arts generally.

The awards can be used for the professional development of artists, the arts and increasing access and participation in the arts.

This year, the total fund is €20,000, with grants of €150 - 500 usually being awarded, and €1,000 in exceptional circumstances. Limerick Arts Office will be accepting applications until 12pm Wednesday, February 28 2024.

Limerick Arts Office are also accepting applications from Limerick based creatives, communities and cultural heritage organisations for Made in Limerick Grants 2024.

These grants are offered as part of Limerick’s Creative Ireland Programme. The call will be open until 12pm Wednesday, March 6 2024.

All projects are to take place in 2024. The projects should benefit communities based in the Limerick City and County Council administrative area, or the applicant should be based in Limerick, or operate substantially within Limerick City and County and be able to demonstrate this in their application.
