The lights were spotted in Ardpatrick | PICTURE: Olivia Maguire on Facebook
THE PEOPLE of Limerick were treated to a stunning view last night, as a procession of lights made its way across the night sky.
Olivia Maguire, living in Ardpatrick, spotted the celestial display and took to social media to share it with the world.
Since it was published, the idea that the lights are a celestial display, fortelling a five-in-a-row triumph for Limerick's hurlers this summer, has gained traction on social media.
One person noted online that it may suggest "five in a row for Limerick!", which gained multiple reactions in agreement.
Carlow Weather also reported about the phenomenon, after a photographer captured the celestial spectacle on camera.
They were said to have been the Starlink Satellites, a part of SpaceX's ambitious project to provide global broadband coverage.
The satellites are designed to bring high-speed internet access to even the most remote corners of the globe.
