Limerick man passes away in Paris

A LIMERICK community woke to sad news this Friday morning.

Limerick Live has learned that a Limerick man passed away on Thursday in Paris.

It is believed the man had travelled to the French capital for this Saturday's Rugby World Cup Ireland v Scotland game at the Stade de France. 

It is understood that the man is from east Limerick. 

A spokesperson for the Department of Foreign Affair confirmed it is aware of the death of an Irish citizen in France and is providing consular assistance.

"As with all consular cases, the Department does not comment on the detail of individual cases," said a spokesperson.
