FLOOD barriers are being deployed along the quays in Limerick city as a precaution as Storm Agnes passes over Ireland.
Limerick City and County Council says the decision to deploy the barriers is in response to a High Tide advisory from the Office of Public Works
Barriers have also been deployed at several locates in Askeaton and Foynes ahead of high tide later this Wednesdaym

High Tide in Limerick city is at 3.38pm while it is around an hour later in west Limerick.
A status yellow wind warning for Limerick came into effect at 7am and remains in effect until midnight.
The Road Safety Authority says it will become very windy this Wednesday with very strong and gusty southerly winds, veering westerly later on.
"There will be the possibility of coastal flooding, difficult travel conditions, power outages and some fallen trees," said a spokesperson.
