Limerick boxer shuts down Love Island rumours 

A LIMERICK boxer has put to bed any notion that he is to appear on Love Island but the question still remains as to what was the reason behind his mystery disappearance from Limerick and social media for over a month.

Lee Reeves went off social media just as the popular dating show aired from Mallorca on Virgin Media Two and was offline for approximately six weeks adding fuel to the fire. 

In the past week he returned home, is back on Instagram and is denying that he was on any dating show but that he was part of another project. The duration of his absence has led many to believe that he has been filming another reality TV Show. The level of secrecy surrounding his disappearance has also led people to believe it is a high-profile reality TV show. 

“So I'm still getting messages right now saying ‘Lee when you going on Love Island’. I don't watch Love Island so I don't know if it’s over or if it’s not but obviously I'm not going on love island, I was doing something very different,” Lee said on an Instagram story on Wednesday night. 

“But my main reason for not going on Love Island is I'm in a relationship and I don't believe that somebody in a relationship should do dating programmes or do stuff that jeopardises your relationship to increase your profile or your brand because yeah they’re good if you want to make money or if you want to get viewers but when you go home at the end of the night and you're alone who cares if you’ve a million followers you need one person that appreciates you and cares about you, it's worth more than money, it's worth more than brands,” he explained. 

Back in early June he shared to his almost 20k followers on Instagram that he was taking a break from the social media app.

“PSA: Soon I’m going to be off my phone. Got a lot of stuff going on that will eventually be told. All positive I hope! It may be for a week or may be a month so have patience and don’t unfollow me cause I will be back,” commented the model with a laughing emoji.

He added: “I just got some stuff that needs all my focus and energy now and a phone will be a distraction. I love you all very much. Future posts if there’s any, will be by #TeamReeves.”
