CELEBRATIONS were in full swing following the All-Ireland victory as the hurlers partied it up in Adare while Limerick supporters across the county painted the county green as hurling icon Cian Lynch would say.
Following the final whistle, the boys in green were quick to take their snaps with the now-familiar Liam MacCarthy cup, retaining the famous silverware for the fourth time in-a-row and for the fifth time in six years.
It was a different form of celebration than what the team are used to this year, however, as normally the players make their way home from Dublin the following day after the match but this year, the team made their way back to home soil on the same day as the victory.
Cans were handed around on the train journey home, judging by some of the player's Instagram posts and all-around good craic was in full swing.

The team touched down on home turf, shortly after 10pm last night, arriving at Colbert Station where Marty Morrissey was ready to welcome the team off the train before heading out to the Woodlands House Hotel in Adare where the night was kept alive with singing and dancing.

Donegal man, Michael Maloney provided musical entertainment for the evening.
In the city, fans also partied into the early hours with D’Icon nightclub undergoing a facade of green lighting as RTÉ 2FM DJ JJ Hartigan provided the music.

Is it really a Limerick homecoming celebration without the Cranberries playing full volume?

Former Limerick inter-county All-Star winning hurler, Shane Dowling celebrated the win with a trip to the iconic Copper Face Jacks in Dublin with Dónal Óg Cusack.
Celebrations will in no doubt be continuing this evening as a homecoming event is planned at Pery's Square in the city for the All-Ireland winning hurlers.
