LIMERICK City and County Council have launched a public consultation process to gather feedback on a proposed Active Travel Scheme connecting St Paul's roundabout to Ballykeefe roundabout in Dooradoyle.

The scheme aims to connect the existing cycle network in Dooradoyle to the Crescent Shopping Centre, facilitating easy and safe travel for cyclists.

The project also seeks to establish convenient links to Mary Immaculate College and Limerick city centre, supporting sustainable transportation options within the region.

Members of the public are invited to participate in the consultation through in-person and virtual sessions, providing their input on the proposed project.

The in-person public consultation is to be held at County Hall this Wednesday, from 1pm to 3pm and 5pm to 7pm, and offers an opportunity for interested individuals to examine drawings and proposed options for the Active Travel Scheme.

In addition to the in-person event, a virtual public consultation will be available from June 21 until July 5 with feedback forms.

Hard copies of preliminary options and drawings for the scheme will be held in County Hall, Dooradoyle and City Hall, Merchant’s Quay until July 5.

Senior Engineer with the Active Travel team at Limerick City and County Council, Sean McGlynn, commented: “It’s important that all stakeholders have an input as we continue to roll out and expand the city’s Active Travel and mobility network.”
