LIMERICK has received another major jobs boost with the announcement that H&MV Engineering is to open a new global headquarters in the city.

The company, which provides services to the energy market already has offices in Dublin, Cork and Thurles and operates international offices in London, Glasgow, Frankfurt, Oslo, Madrid, Hosur, and Bangalore.

It provides specialist design, engineering and construction services and is to lead a global expansion from its new international premises in Castletroy over the five next years.

Up to 350 people will be employed at the new headquarters in Limerick while a further 350 jobs will be created in other areas of the business.

The new 36,000 square foot facility will include engineering VR facilities as well as relaxation areas, a games room and a gym.

The expansion plans are being announced just months after the company marked its 25th anniversary, since its foundation in 1997, and represents the company’s commitment to its thriving workforce by promoting learning, development and mentoring in a dynamic new office space.

The state of the art training facilities will allow H&MV Engineering to expand its graduate and apprenticeship programmes, offering training and upskilling opportunities across a range of disciplines including engineering, design, finance, and commercial development.

Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, Simon Coveney and H&MV Engineering CEO PJ Flanagan will attend an event at lunchtime this Friday to mark the official announcement

The CEO of Enterprise Ireland, Leo Clancy, will also attend.

Commenting on the expansion announcement PJ Flanagan said: “Investing in talent and delivering on our ESG objectives is incredibly important to us in providing rewarding careers to our employees. The new office spaces have been designed to create an optimum atmosphere for innovation and creativity for H&MV Engineering colleagues, as we continue to provide high voltage engineering solutions on the global stage. I look forward to welcoming employees and clients into our new headquarters in Limerick, and to seeing what the next 25 years will bring to our business as we enter the next chapter of the growth for the business.”
