All Star hurler Cian Lynch will be a guest on the new podcast series
TEAM Limerick Clean Up have launched a podcast with All Star hurler Cian Lynch as the first guest.
The theme of the podcast is community, environment and pride and this mini series will chat to various Limerick people about their love of Limerick.
"Its special, we harp on about it in relation to sport of how great Limerick people are but I think down through the years taking notice of the Team Limerick Clean Up, the amount of people getting involved, I know my local area on the day it takes place, you’d see people out with their high-vis, coming out together, looking after their patch, rowing in behind each other," said Cian.
"There’s a massive knock on effect, people meeting each other who might not have met each other in a long time, looking after your local area, showing people that you really care and I think Limerick people are unbelievable in how they really support it, it’s such a massive initiative."
Team Limerick Clean Up is an annual event that takes place on Good Friday which is April 7 this year and is supported by the JP McManus Benevolent Fund and has seen over 400 tonnes of rubbish gathered since it began in 2015.
Commenting on the launch of the podcast, TLC Chair, Paul Foley said: "We’re excited to try something new and move in this direction.
"A podcast is a great way to showcase what TLC really means to people and to get a deeper insight than we ever have before. The guests are TLC veterans and have played pivotal roles in the growth of this initiative, so hearing what they have to say makes for some interesting listening."
The Team Limerick Clean Up mini series is hosted by Nigel Dugdale on Live95.
Commenting on the production of the podcast, Nigel Dugdale said: "The Team Limerick Clean-Up Talks To... podcast has been a great project to work on.
"I certainly discovered a lot about each interviewee, and now you will too. It was nice not just to talk about the effect of TLC on the day of the clean-up, but also how TLC has played a part in the personal day-to-day lives of each interviewee.
"You can really tell that the TLC message of community support, and showcasing pride in place translates all year round. I can’t wait for you all to hear it".
