LIMERICK City and County Council (LCCC) are urging "extreme caution" as parts of Limerick are set to see some of the coldest temperatures in the country.
Temperatures are forecasted to fall as low as -4 in parts of the county overnight.
The freezing temperatures follow falls of snow, sleet and rain and could result in hazardous driving conditions, particularly on higher ground and in areas of West Limerick.
Between 3 and 4 inches of snow fell in some areas of West Limerick overnight last night.
Motorists should avoid unnecessary journeys with freezing conditions setting in later tonight and forecast to last until late on Friday morning.
Winter Maintenance crews from LCCC are carrying out pre-treatment on the National & Regional road network mainly.
Extra caution is advised on untreated roads and footpaths.
Limerick currently remains under a Met Éireann Status Yellow Snow-Ice Warning until tomorrow, Friday at 12pm.
