A DISPUTE between a number of women - one swinging a golf club - in Limerick city centre has been widely shared on social media.
The footage, captured on a mobile phone, appears to show one woman inside in a beauty booth, the doorway of which is being manned by a security guard, while another woman outside the booth, swings a golf club in her direction. Both women can be heard shouting at each other.
The video shows the woman inside the booth banging furiously on the perspex sheeting of the beauty booth while a different woman, outside the booth, does likewise from the other side.
Insults are exchanged between the women which include, "You're a rat", "I'm no rat", "You're a w**r*", and "You had plenty of time, plenty of time." A male can also be heard shouting in the distance.
Security personnel are seen keeping the factions apart, trying to calm matters and ushering those involved out of the premises.
A garda spokesperson told Limerick Live that gardaí were alerted to a public order incident in a premises in the city centre on Friday, February 24.
"Enquiries are ongoing at this time," said a garda spokesperson.
There were a number of innocent bystanders who witnessed the frightening exchange including an elderly woman.
