FIREFIGHTERS remain at the scene of a major fire on a County Limerick farm this Sunday morning which started on Saturday evening.

Six appliances from Kilmallock, Charleville and Cappamore rushed to the site of the blaze on the outskirts of Kilmallock after receiving the report at 8.39pm on Saturday evening.

They tackled the fire, which engulfed a farm shed, through the night.

Limerick Live understands there were no injuries caused and there were no cattle in the shed at the time.

It is not known what caused the fire or if there was hay or machinery inside the shed at the time.

Firefighters are still at the scene this Sunday morning.
