Popular Limerick store announces closure as business 'moves online'

A POPULAR Limerick store has confirmed it has closed permanently as the business has moved online.

Takeaway T-Shirts And Gifts, a popular retailer which specialises in customising shoppers personal items, had previously announced the temporary closure of its unit at the Parkway Shopping Centre on the Dublin Road.

However, in an update posted on social media last week, the company teased customers by saying they would “be back soon”.

On Tuesday, the retailer broke its week-long silence to announce it was relocating to be a "fully online" business.

“Dear valued customers, we have some exciting news to share! “Takeaway T-Shirts And Gifts has moved to a new facility and will now be operating solely online," read the update.

"While it is sad to say goodbye to our physical location, we are excited for this new chapter and the opportunity to bring you even more unique t-shirts and gifts," it added.

While expressing disappointment, many customers have taken to social media to wish the company well in its new venture.

The Parkway Shopping Centre has not made any comment regarding the announcement.
