Limerick schools invited to compete for 'Ireland's Fittest' title

A call has gone out to schools across the country from former Olympian athlete David Gillick who has joined forces with Fyffes in a quest to find ‘Ireland’s Fittest School 2026’

A CALL has gone out to schools in Limerick from well-known Irish Olympian, sprinter David Gillick in a quest to find Ireland’s Fittest School 2026.

A central feature of the programme will be a series of exercise routines recorded by David Gillick and fitness trainer, Sharon Flanagan.

Running for eight weeks from January 26, the competition will see the top four schools from each province compete head-to-head across four regional qualifier events in April.

The top school from each province will then progress to May’s grand final, at which the prize package will include €8k sports equipment.
