The Ladies club held a prizes presentation in the clubhouse on Wednesday 25th March, with some long-standing faces, but also lots of new faces collecting prizes. It was a lovely evening, loads of laughs and chats, with the winners and runners up enjoying the atmosphere, where winners of the Spring League were presented with their prizes, after 5 weeks of battling the elements, to get their rounds played for their team. Well done everyone.

Monday mornings the senior ladies meet for a social game of golf at 10:30am so please come along and join them.

Wednesday 1st April 18/9 hole Single Stableford competition kindly sponsored by Joe Whelan's of Tipperary Town.

Sunday 5th of April 18/9 hole Single Stableford kindly sponsored by O'Rahelly's sports of Tipperary Town.

Sunday 29th March 2026 was an 18-hole Stableford competition: In first place was Renagh Murphy with 34 points (07). There were two 2's recorded by the one and only Renagh Murphy, one on the 7th hole and one on the 15th.

Things are moving along nicely here at the golf club, the 18 holes are open each day, bunkers in play and as soon as the weather settles, we will be having counting competitions very soon. Our Easter program is packed full of competitions both Open and Club Singles.

Check the timesheet for the Open competitions as they have been opened early. The course improvements are continuing, with footpaths and steps to tee boxes all showing the benefits of the work undertaken by greenkeeper Eddie Ryan and his staff. As the year progresses, the proactive approach by the club will certainly add to the experience of playing golf here. Well done to all involved.

Results: The weather was very wet on Tuesday last with 30 players braving the elements. In spite of the inclement weather, Cullen native, Noel Ryan (R ) played brilliantly to record a score of 42 points over the 18 holes. Only recently taking up golf, this bodes well for Noel for the coming year. In category 1, local man, Edward Lowry led the way with fine round of 36 points, also the best gross of the day, which held out in a count-back from Ben Carey and Fergal Lonergan. Ignatius Walsh from Cappamore is a man in form, after helping his team to fill the runners up spot the previous Sunday in the spring league, he followed that up with a fine performance in testing conditions to prevail over Fintan Leahy and Frankie Leonard in a countback in category 2.

Tuesday 24th March Open Singles (18 Holes) - Category 1: Edward Lowry (13) 36pts B9, Category 2: Ignatius Walsh (15) 34pts B3, Category 3: Noel Ryan (25) 42pts

Open Singles - Saturday 28th, Sunday 29th March 2026

A great turn out again this weekend of 162 players including five visitors, played over both days with the weather on Sunday being challenging with wind and rain up until 3pm. Score of the weekend was that of Kilfinane man, Barry O'Shaughnessy with a two under par gross round on Saturday. Barry has showing great form over the winter months which will surely transfer to a great year for him. Annacarthy's George Fahey topped the Sunday scores with another great round continuing the great vein of form that has seen him tumble down in the handicap. A great performance by local resident, Jon Murray secured the category one prize, great to see Jon featuring as he was one of the lowest handicapped players in the category. Galbally's Marcus Browne showed a return to form to secure his category, Marcus has had a few good rounds lately so he received due reward for his consistency. Liam O'Brien from Aherlow also gained reward for a lot of good golf over the winter with a fine win, while in the last category, Waterford native, Brian Deegan was another player showing good form all winter and gaining a well earned prize.

Best Saturday Barry O Shaughnessy (3) 41 pts, Best Sunday George Fahey (10) 39 pts, Cat 1 Jon Murray (2) 34 pts, Cat 2 Marcus Browne (10) 39 pts, Cat 3 Liam O Brien (17) 38 pts, Cat 4 Brian Deegan (22) 38 pts
