Limerick football side to face Laois in Allianz Football League opener named

THE Limerick senior football side to face Laois in their Allianz Football League Division 3 opening round fixture this Saturday evening has been named.

Jimmy Lee's Limerick side take on the Midlanders at Laois Hire O'Moore Park, Portaloise at 6pm on Saturday evening.

Limerick go into the game on the back of an impressive 3-11 t o0-15 victory over Cork in their McGrath Cup group fixture at Páirc Uí Rinn earlier this month

Thirty seven players were named on the Limerick senior football panel when it was revealed earlier this week.

County champions Mungret St Paul’s lead the way with six players named on the panel, matched by Fr Casey’s who also have six representatives. Newcastle West, Adare, Rathkeale and Galtee Gaels are next in line, with three players each included in the squad. Cillian Fahy will captain the team, while Barry Coleman has been named vice-captain.

Galway native Brendan Carr and Mayo native Jack Mahon have earned an inter-county call up's from Jimmy Lee. Mahon has transfered from his home club Charlestown in Mayo to Mungret St Paul's.
