
LIMERICK Junior B Football champions Knockainey will be aiming to target Munster club Championship success.Knockainey will face Ballyphenane of Cork or Ballinacourty of Waterford in the Munster Junior Football Championship semi-final on February 1.
The Munster Junior ‘B’ Football Competition is coordinated by Knockaderry GAA Club and it will get underway this Sunday, January 25 in Knockaderry.
All six counties, Clare, Cork, Kerry, Limerick, Tipperary and Waterford are represented in the competition.There will be two quarter-finals in the provincial competition, followed by two semi-finals with the semi-final winners then playing in the Munster Junior ‘B’ club final.

Ballyphenane of Cork and Ballinacourty of Waterford will meet in the quarter-final this Sunday at 2pm. Clooney-Quin of Clare and Golden-Kilfeacle of Tipperary meet in other quarter-final at the same time on Sunday with the winners then facing Cromane, of Kerry, in the Munster semi-final.
Knockainey dramatically edged past Knockane 2-9 to 1-11 in the Limerick Junior B Football Championship final in November.
Late on, goalkeeper Tom Clancy stepped up with a long range free and he converted the championship winning point to seal a historic day for Knockainey.Ballylanders footballer Jimmy Barry Murphy is the coach of the Knockainey football team.
