THE FR CASEY Cup is the prize at stake on Sunday afternoon when Newcastle West and Mungret St Paul's face-off in the Irish Wire Products Limerick Senior Football Championship final.The decider at Mick Neville Park, Rathkeale gets underway at 3:30pm.
Newcastle West are aiming to win their fourth Limerick SFC title in five years this weekend.For Mungret St Paul's this is a new experience, their last county final appearance came in 2001 and this will be the first time this current group of players experience a county senior final.
Last weekend, Newcastle West needed extra time to get past Fr Casey's winning out 2-16 to 0-14 in their semi-final. Limerick senior footballer Emmet Rigter was only fit enough to make an appearance off the bench but he made a significant impact scoring 1-5 off the bench.

Mungret St Paul's edged past Adare 0-17 to 1-13 in the other SFC semi-final. Shane Barry's effort deep into injury time sealed an impressive win for the city side over reigning county champions Adare.
The finalists met in round one of the SFC when Newcastle West did just enough to get past Mungret St Paul's holding on for a narrow 0-20 to 2-13 victory.Both teams fell short at the semi-final stage of the Limerick SFC last year.
Stephen Kelly, Brian Fitzgerald and Martin O'Sullivan are currently in charge of Newcastle West. The 2023 county champions will be looking to the Limerick footballers Darren O'Doherty and Ruadhan O'Connor.The recently retired inter-county player Iain Corbett, as well as Mike Quilligan, Mike McMahon, Eoin and Brian Hurley's experience will count for a lot this weekend.
Newcastle West wing back Aaron Neville has been in impressive form at wing back. After making an appearance off the substitute bench last weekend, Emmet Rigter is likely to start.
Mungret St Paul's manager Kevin O'Hagan is ably assisted by Limerick senior football selector Pa Ranahan, Limerick senior football goalkeeping coach Eoin Mal O'Hagan and Darragh Droog in the Mungret St Paul's backroom team.
Limerick footballers Jason Hassett, Killian Ryan, Darragh O'Hagan and Jack McCarthy will all need big performances this weekend if the Raheen-based club are to win their first ever first Limerick senior football championship title.Captain John Hutton and Shane Barry scored 0-10 between them in their side's victory over Adare.
The 2001 Limerick U21 Munster championship winning team will be honoured at Sunday's county final in Rathkeale.The winners of Sunday's clash will face Kerry champions Dingle in a Munster SFC semi-final on Sunday, November 23 in a Kerry venue.
