THE FINAL round of group action takes place in the Irish Wire Products Limerick Senior Football Championship this weekend.Six games are down for decision across Groups One and Two in the Senior Football Championship on Saturday afternoon.
Group One table-toppers Adare take on Monaleen on Saturday at 3:30pm in Bruff. A win or draw will see Adare advance directly to the semi-finals. However, if Monaleen defeat Adare, the Castletroy side will advance to the last four as they would hold the head-to-head advantage. Both Monaleen and Adare have already secured their place in the knockout stages.
Fr Casey’s face Na Piarsaigh on Saturday at 3:30pm in Sean Finn Park, Rathkeale. It’s straight forward for Fr Casey’s, a win will see the Abbeyfeale side book their place in the knock-out stages. Na Piarsaigh are yet to register a win in the SFC, and the Caherdavin side will play in the relegation semi-finals.
Oola meet Rathkeale in Mungret St Paul’s GAA Grounds at 3:30pm. Both sides will be hoping that Na Piarsaigh can stun Fr Casey’s, as a win for either Oola or Rathkeale would see the winner reach the quarter-finals. It is a crucial clash for both clubs, with the loser joining Na Piarsaigh in the relegation semi-finals.

Top spot isn’t confirmed in Group Two of the SFC. Last year’s county semi-finalists Newcastle West and Mungret St Paul’s are level on six points. Newcastle West are strong favourites to beat Ballylanders on Saturday at 1pm in Kilmallock. If the Magpies get the win, they will progress directly through to the semi-finals.
Ballylanders are yet to win a game in the SFC, and the South Limerick side will play in this year’s relegation semi-finals.
Second-placed Mungret St Paul’s take on St Kieran’s in Askeaton at 1pm, while Kildimo-Pallaskenry meet Galtee Gaels at the same time in Hospital.
If Mungret St Paul’s get the better of St Kieran’s and Kildimo-Pallaskenry defeat Galtee Gaels, that would see Kildimo-Pallaskenry leapfrog St Kieran’s and book their place in the quarter-finals. The loser's of Kildimo-Pallaskenry and Galtee Gaels will join Ballylanders in the relegation semi-finals.
First place in both Group One and Group Two will advance directly to the semi-finals. Second and third place from each group will face-off in the quarter-finals. Fifth and sixth place will enter the relegation semi-finals. All those games take place on October 25-26, with the semi-finals scheduled for November 1-2.
Meanwhile, the Limerick SFC county final is fixed for November 9. The winners’ of the Limerick Senior Football Championship will face the Kerry champions in the Munster SFC semi-final on the weekend of November 23 at a Kerry venue.
