BREAKING: Emergency services respond to major incident at Limerick school

EMERGENCY services are currently at the scene of an incident at Castletroy College this Thursday afternoon.

A Defence Forces Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team, gardai, firefighters and paramedics with the National Ambulance Services have all responded. Limerick Live understands that it relates to “potentially hazardous material”.

There have been no reports of any injuries to students at this time.

Limerick Fire and Rescue Service received a report at 3.50pm and three appliances responded.

A message from the school to parents reads: "Please note that there will be no afterschool study this evening 09/10/25 due to unforeseen circumstances."

Gardai, Limerick City and County Council, Castletroy College and the Defence Forces have all been contacted for comment.
