THE Limerick U20 football side to face Tipperary in the opening round of the Dalata Hotel Group Munster U20 football championship on Saturday has been named.

Limerick U20s will take on Tipperary U20s in Phase 1 of the provincial championship at Mick Neville Park in Rathkeale on Saturday at 2pm.

Following Saturday's game in Rathkeale, Limerick face an away fixture against Waterford on Saturday, March 15 in Dungarvan before taking on Clare in Doonbeg on Saturday, March 22, also 2pm.

John O'Grady is manager of the Limerick U20 football side. He served as selector with the Limerick U20 footballers for the previous four seasons.

The Oola man has managed numerous Limerick football development squads as well as the University of Limerick's Fresher's football teams in the last seven years.

In 2021 and 2022 he coached the Clare ladies footballers and in 2023 the East Limerick man was part of the Limerick ladies footballers backroom team which reached the All-Ireland junior final in 2023.

Andrew Lane, of St Senan's, is coach to the Limerick U20 football side. Lane was part of Limerick senior football from 2005 until 2013.

Lane's clubmate Ray O'Flaherty has also joined the backroom team. O'Flaherty has coached various underage teams in St Senans.

David Devane is coach/selector. Devane was part of the St Brigid's backroom team in Roscommon that went onto win a county title and a Connacht Championship last year.

Galway native Robert Hannan is the goalkeeping coach with the side. Hannan won a Galway IFC title and a Connacht IFC title in 2008 with his club St Michaels.

Limerick reached last year's All-Ireland U20 'B' semi-final and O'Grady will be hoping Limerick can build on that in 2025.

Other members of the management team include Mel Devine (St Senans, Statistics/Analysis), Gerry Butler (Claughan, Statistics/Analysis), John Lynch (Gerald Griffins, Liason Officer), Kieran Barrett (Kitman, Kildimo Pallaskenry), Daniel Quirke (Oola, Physio) and Stephen Lucy (Doctor, Croom).
