LIMERICK senior football manager Jimmy Lee feels his side can head into next weekend's clash against Tipperary with confidence in Division Four of the Allianz Football League.
The Shannonsiders have put together back to back victories over London and Carlow in last two weekends. Limerick have now put themselves back into the promotion hunt.
The round five Allianz Football League clash between Limerick and Tipperary takes place on Saturday March 1 in Mick Neville Park at 6:30pm.
After a draw in round one against Longford and a defeat to Wexford, Jimmy Lee's side have now turned their fortunes around.
"Anything can happen in Division Four, Tipperary are still a good team. We have to face them next Saturday night. We'll be going in with a bit of confidence and they might be bruised and battered. At the same time, we have a job to do. I won't be looking at Wicklow or Waterford, it's just one game at a time" said manager Jimmy Lee after Limerick's round four victory over Carlow on Saturday night.
Lee's charges recorded an impressive 1-17 to 0-13 over Carlow in round of the Allianz Football League in Dr Netwatch Cullen Park. James Naughton and goalkeeper Josh Ryan stood out scoring 1-10 betwen them.
Despite, Limerick's victory over Carlow Lee still feels there is work to done.
"There's more in us is what I would say. I'm very happy with the second half but a lot to be worked on if you look at the first half. We got two points on the board and that's what it's about at the end of the day. It just changes the league position."
Depth is something which the Limerick senior football manager is developing within his panel.
"There is depth there, you could brought in the likes of Tommie Childs, Sean Clancy, Diarmuid Buckley and Ruadhan O'Connor. It's just the knocks and bruises were coming. We had to make decisions. Normally you'd possibly be taking out a midfielder. We have depth there compared to what we had before when we lost people we were comfortbale enough" added Lee.
Danny Neville made his first appearance for Limerick on last Saturday night. Neville missed the opening three rounds through injury.
"We're in good shape, we have knocks and bruises again. Dylan Kenny is what I would consider an excellent strength & conditioning coach. I'm really impressed with the lads in the backroom team. I couldn't talk highly enough of them, they manage their loads and they work well together."
