Limerick senior football open 2025 with inter-county challenge game

THE Limerick senior footballers continue their preparations for the start of the Allianz Football League when playing their first inter-county challenge game this weekend.

Jimmy Lee's Limerick side will take on local rivals Clare in a senior football challenge match at Páirc na nGael, Askeaton this Sunday, January 5 at 1pm. 

The match will be played under the new FRC Gaelic football rules. Entry to the game is free to everyone.

Limerick senior footballers will open their Division 4 Allianz Football League campaign against Longford on Sunday, January 26 at Glennon Brothers Pearse Park, 2pm.

The Shannonsiders then host Wexford in Round 2 of the Allianz Football League at Mick Neville Park in Rathkeale on Sunday, February 2 at 2pm.
