ADARE won the Limerick senior football championship for the first time since 2020. The west Limerick side put the disappointment of losing county finals in 2021, 2022 and 2023 behind them. Fr Casey's reached the Limerick senior football final for the first since 2009. 

Newcastle West were chasing four county title in-a-row this year. It was a positive year for Mungret St Paul's, the city based club won the intermediate title last year. Kevin O'Hagan's side went all the way to the SFC semi-finals this year. 

Ballysteen were relegated to intermediate football. Rathkeale have been promoted to senior football for the 2025 season. 

Leader Sport picks 15 players that have stood out during the Limerick SFC. 

1. Jeffrey Alfred (Adare)

The Adare shotstopper looked assured and confident in goals throughout the Championship. Jeffrey Alfred could now be in position to wear the Limerick goalkeeper jersey in 2025. 

2. Fiachra Cotter (Fr Casey's)

Fiachra Cotter was one of the players that stood out Fr Casey's on their run to this year's county final. Cotter produced a solid campaign for Fr Casey's.

3. Dave Connolly (Adare)

Dave Connolly was the go to man marker for Adare during SFC. Connolly did a terrific job on Newcastle West attacker Mike McMahon which saw Adare defeat the Magpies for the first time since 2020. 

4. Ralph Leonard (Na Piarsaigh)

Na Piarsaigh remarkably turned their season around after two defeats in round one and two, the Caherdavin outfit went onto to reach the quarter-final for the second in a row. Leonard was oustanding in defence for Michael Lynch's side. 

5. Paul Maher (Adare)

Paul Maher was once again a consistent performer once again for Adare. Maher provided a huge threat going forward with his blistering pace. 

6. Brian O'Sullivan (Newcastle West)

Iain Corbett was a huge loss for Newcastle West this year. Brian O'Sullivan stood out in his absence particularly in the semi-final when things were going against side where he chipped in with 0-2. 

7. Cualann Quigley (Fr Casey's)

Cualann Quigley was part of the Limerick U20 panel this year. Quigley has gradually been improving as a footballer and the Abbeyfeale youngster has shown enough to earn a call into Jimmy Lee's side. 

8. Darragh O'Hagan (Mungret St Paul's)

Darragh O'Hagan had balancing act this year between lining out for the Mungret St Paul's footballers and hurlers. O'Hagan brought a physicality to the city based club's midfield. 

9. Emmett Rigter (Newcastle West)

Emmett Rigter was part of the Limerick U20 and senior team this year. Rigter is one brightest prospects in Limerick football and the Newcastle West had another solid campaign for his club this year. 

10. John Hutton (Mungret St Paul's)

John Hutton stepped up with crucial scores on Mungret St Paul's path to the semi-final. Hutton was deadly accurate from the placed throughout the SFC. 

11. Hugh Bourke (Adare)

Hugh Bourke was able to put a frustrating year of injuries behind him. Bourke scored crucial goals in Adare's victory in the semi-final and county final. 

12. Joe Sweeney (Adare)

Joe Sweeney was part of the Limerick senior football panel this year. Sweeney had an impressive campaign for Adare and did a lot of the unseen work for the county champions. 

13. Dylan Cronin (Na Piarsaigh)

Dylan Cronin led from the front in the Na Piarsaigh attack. The Na Piarsaigh sharpshooter was on target with an impressive 2-23. 

14. Josh Ryan (Oola)

Josh Ryan made his return from a serious knee injury. At the start of the year, Ryan was only fit enough to start in goals. As the year went on Josh Ryan returned to his usual position and the Oola forward finished as top scorer scoring 2-29 in the SFC.

15. Adrian Enright (Fr Casey's)

Adrian Enright was previously involved with the Limerick senior footballers. The Abbeyfeale forward landed 2-22 throughout the championship. Jimmy Lee will be looking to get Enright back involved with Limerick this year.
