FORMER Limerick senior footballer Donal O'Sullivan made his debut in the Galway club championship. The goalkeeper lined out for Salthill-Knocknacarra against Mountbellew/Moylough where he saw his new club get their campaign off to a winning start.

Salthill-Knocknacarra defeated Moutbellew/Moylough 0-9 to 0-7 last Saturday in Tuam Stadium.

Salthill-Knocknacarra are seen as one of the big contenders in the Galway club championship. Former Galway footballer Finian Hanley is in charge and Hanley will be looking to guide his club to the county title for the first time since 2012.

The former Limerick shotstopper transferred from Monaleen to the Galway club this year due to work commitments in the University Hospital in Galway.

O'Sullivan's former club, Monaleen are yet to register a win in group one of the Limerick SFC.

O'Sullivan lined out for the Limerick senior footballers between 2013 and 2023. During that time, the goalkeeper was part of promotions from Division 4 to Division 2 in two seasons and won a McGrath cup with the Shannonsiders.
