THE Limerick senior football championship gets back underway this week.
Two rounds of the SFC have been played. There has been a six-week break in the championship since the last round of action took place.
Four games take place this Thursday and the other two games take place on Friday.
In Group one, table toppers Mungret St Paul's take on Monaleen on Thursday August 15 in Pairc de Paor, Rathbane at 6:45pm.
Mungret St Paul's have been impressive in this year's champ’ionship recording victories over Monaleen and Adare.
Last year's Intermediate champions have been one of the standout teams in the SFC.
Monaleen remain winless in the SFC and they will be disappointed with their start to this year's championship.
At the same time in Kilmallock, Adare meet Ballylanders in a mid table clash. Both sides have suffered a defeat and registered a victory in group one of the SFC.
In the final game in group one of the SFC, second place St Kieran's who are unbeaten face bottom placed Na Piarsaigh in Ballybrown at 6:45pm.
On Thursday, in group two top opf the table Newcastle West make the trip to city venue, St Patrick's GAA where the county champions take on bottom placed Oola.
Newcastle West are bidding to win four SFC titles in-a-row, something which no Limerick club has achieved in this decade.
League champions, Fr Casey's will look to make it back to back wins against Ballysteen who are yet to register a win in this year's championship. This game takes place in Newcastle West on Friday evening at 6:45pm.
Galtee Gaels will look to make it three wins from three against Kildimo Pallaskenry in Pallasgreen on Friday evening at 6:45pm.
Peter Nash, Tony McCarthy and Cathal Downes have all been sidelined through injury in the hurling championship for Kildimo Pallaskenry.
Round four of the senior football championship will take place on August 22.
