On Saturday evening, July 13 St Senan's got their first win of the Championship where they defeated Castlemahon by the minimium 2-12 to 1-14. On Friday evening, Newcastle West' second team recorded an impressive victory over Gerald Griffins winning out on a final scoreline of 5-4 to 0-9.
Earlier in the week, on July 10, Castlemahon defeated St Patrick's 2-6 to 1-8 at Foynes in the opening round of group one in the Griffin Coaches Limerick IFC.
Dromcollogher-Broadford sit top of the table in group one with two victories over Gerald Griffins and St Senan's. Castlemahon, St Senan's and Newcastle West are all tied on two points. St Patrick's and Gerald Griffins are all yet to register a win in Limerick IFC.
This Saturday July 20, St Patrick's take on Newcastle West in round two of Limerick IFC at 7pm in Sean Finn Park, Rathkeale.
There was a delay to the start of group one in the Limerick IFC with Gearoid Hegarty (St Patrick's) and Seamus Flanagan's (Castlemahon) involvement with the Limerick senior hurlers.
Two rounds have been played in group two of the Limerick IFC with Galbally sitting top of the table. Rathkeale are just behind them in second place on three points. Glin and Pallasgreen are tied on two points in third and fourth place. Claughan are on one point in fifth place and Crecora Manister sit on the bottom of the table with zero points.
The action in group two of the Limerick IFC gets back underway on the week of August 15.
