LIMERICK senior footballers have been drawn against Munster rivals Tipperary in their Tailteann Cup preliminary quarter-final next weekend.
Jimmy Lee's Limerick side will have home advantage for the game which will take place next weekend as the Shannonsiders finished second in their group compared to Tipperary's third.
Limerick secured two wins in the group stages of the Tailteann Cup against Offaly and then against London at Parnell Park, Dublin on Saturday afternoon.
Two goals in the minutes before half-time provided the platform for Limerick's 2-14 to 0-10 victory over the Exiles.
Danny Neville and Paul Maher struck the vital goals as Limerick recorded back-to-back wins in Group Four. Limerick led 2-8 to 0-6 at the interval.
The fixture details for Limerick's preliminary quarter-final against Tipperary next weekend are set to be confirmed on Bank Holiday Monday.
Teams which progress from the preliminary round will go on to meet a group stage winner in the quarter-finals.
