IT'S a busy Saturday afternoon in Limerick GAA with three county finals due to take place. The re-fixed County Premier Junior A football final goes ahead in Athea, while the County Junior B hurling and football deciders are also down for decision.
The much anticipated clash between Newcastle West and Feenagh-Kilmeedy was set to be played in Mick Neville Park on Friday evening but was moved to Athea and will start at 2pm.
The game was postponed a week ago under a cloud of confusion but it has only ramped up the anticipation for the fixture seven days later.
Newcastle West will be without Seamus Hurley and Lee Woulfe after their involvement in the senior football final win and the duo will be a big loss to their cause.
Feenagh-Kilmeedy will be hopeful that the extra week will help their cause. A defeat in the final will still see them advance to the Munster Club JFC competition. They are set to play Sean Treacy's (Tipperary) or Kilmurry (Cork) in the Munster semi-final.
Elsewhere, Ballybrown and Monaleen are aiming to return to the Junior A Hurling Championship when they meet in the junior b decider in Cappamore.
Ballybrown dropped down a division in 2022, while Monaleen are looking to return to the JAHC following relegation two years ago. That game has a 2pm throw-in.
The County Junior B Football Championship Final is also taking place this afternoon with Ballylanders facing Bruree in Ballyagran at 2.30pm.
