Kildare win sets up ‘Spirit’ final date for Limerick Masters

LIMERICK'S football masters are heading towards a final in their maiden year following a stunning win over Kildare last Saturday.

Anthony McCarthy's side earned a 2-10 to 2-9 win over the Lilywhites and will now play Armagh in the Spirit Cup decider. Limerick led 1-7 to 1-4 at the end of a hard fought opening half with Drom-Broadford's Ray Lynch landing the goal.

The same man got another goal after the break to help Limerick to the one-point winning margin and a date in the final. Lynch finished with 2-1, while Ronan Magee kicked 0-5 for the victorious Limerick side.

John O'Kelly, Michéal Reidy, Andrew Breedy and Trevor Cosgrave also chipped in with a point apiece. Limerick will play Armagh on Saturday, September 16 in the final at the home of St Brigid's GAA Club in Kiltoom, Co Roscommon.
