Three teams have maximum points after two rounds of the Limerick IFC
MUNGRET St Pauls, Gerald Griffins and Galbally remain on maximum points following the second round of the Griffins Coaches Limerick IFC.
Griffins and Mungret occupy the top two spots in Group 1, while Galbally also have four points by virtue of a win and a walkover in their first year back at the intermediate grade. Fr Caseys have pulled out of the competition so all the teams in Group 2 have received two points as a result.
Gerald Griffins followed up their opening night victory over Pallasgreen with a 3-14 to 0-3 win over Glin last Friday in Athea and are in a very strong position going into the break.
Mungret St Pauls are in the same boat after they produced an excellent display to see off Pallasgreen on a 2-18 to 0-3 scoreline a week ago in Claughaun. Mungret began the championship with a victory over Drom-Broadford.
The west divisional club got their first win of the championship by beating Rathkeale 2-6 to 0-10 in Newcastle West. Rathkeale also have one win to their name, over Glin in round one.
Galbally have maximum points in Group 2 by virtue of that walkover from Fr Caseys and a win over St Senans. That is the only game to have been played in this group so far. St Patrick's, Crecora-Manister, and Castlemahon are yet to open their campaigns but will do so in the coming weeks.
