LIMERICK'S ladies footballers are back in action this Sunday when they welcome Down to Newcastle West in their final group game of the TG4 All-Ireland Junior Championship.

Graham Shine's charges have two wins from their two games to date in the competition and face a Down side that also have a 100% record.

A haul of 2-3 from Cathy Mee saw Limerick to a win over Sligo at the same venue last time out but Shine will know that Down will bring a very different test.

Down top Group A on scoring difference having beaten Sligo and Kilkenny. A draw or win against Limerick will see them top the group on scoring difference.

Limerick reached the semi-final of the junior championship in 2022 but were well beaten by Fermanagh. Shine led his side to the last four of the league this year as well, but Limerick were beaten by Antrim at that stage.

Fermanagh have already booked their spot in the semi-finals with two wins from two in Group B. The other place will be decided when Carlow, who have already one win, play London. Those games also take place on Sunday.

Limerick's game with Down has a 1pm throw-in at Newcastle West and is being live streamed by the LGFA.
