LIMERICK'S senior hurlers intensified their preparations for their All-Ireland hurling semi-final clash with Galway at Croke Park with a training camp in Kerry.

Leader Sport understands that John Kiely's side were in Killarney over the past few days for on field training and gym sessions, as they have done in previous years in between the Munster final and the All-Ireland semi-final.

Galway booked their date with Limerick at Croke Park by beating Tipperary by two points in the second of the All-Ireland quarter-finals at the TUS Gaelic Grounds on Saturday. The game between Limerick and Galway will have a 6pm throw-in at GAA headquarters on Saturday, July 8.

The victory for Henry Shefflin's side sets up a repeat of the 2022 semi-final, where Limerick came out with a three-point winning margin.

The two counties also met in the 2020 semi-final. Limerick won that game by three-points on their way to a second All-Ireland title in three years.

Limerick beat Galway on their way to the Allianz Hurling League title earlier this year but Shefflin's charges have recovered well since losing the Leinster Final to Kilkenny. In Saturday's other quarter-final, Clare had a big win over Dublin. They play the Cats in another repeat of the 2022 All-Ireland semi-finals.

Elsewhere, Limerick's junior camogie side booked a place in the quarter-finals of the Glen Dimplex Premier Junior Championship following a 2-9 to 0-10 win over Mayo in Tooreen on Saturday evening.

David Deady's side were made to work for the victory and were 1-5 to 0-6 down at the break but turned things around in the second half to secure a five-point winning margin.

Limerick will now play an All-Ireland Premier Junior Championship quarter-final against a team yet to be decided. That game will take place on Sunday, July 8.
