ARDSCOIL Ris will attempt to reach yet another Dr Harty Cup Final when they face Cashel Community School in the semi-final at 12:30pm on Saturday in Kilmallock.

Liam Cronin’s side have won all three games in the competition so far but have been pushed in all three with a final quarter blitz against Our Lady’s Secondary School, Templemore seeing them into the last four.

The North Circular Road school earned a 1-22 to 1-17 win at UL’s North Campus after going ahead in the game for the first time after 49 minutes.

A Ciaran O’Shea goal sent Templemore into half time heading by 1-10 to 0-9 and it looked good for the Tipperary school heading into the final stretch with Jamie Ormond leading the way.

However, Ardscoil took control once Daire Neville sired into the bottom corner of the Templemore net after a slick team move. Mungret’s Fintan Fitzgerald and Michael Collins led the way in the final stages to see Ardscoil home to a five-point victory.

It was all Ardscoil from then on with Fitzgerald and Collins, now operating at right half forward, very much to the fore and seeing the North Circular road school into a last four fixture with Cashel CS tomorrow.

The sides met in Round 2 of the competition already with the Limerick school coming out victorious on a 3-12 to 1-15 scoreline.
