UL begin defence of Fitzgibbon Cup against ATU Galway

UL Fitzgibbon Cup manager Brian Ryan

COMPETITION favourites UL get their defence of the Fitzgibbon Cup underway this evening when they make the trip to play ATU Galway.

The Brian Ryan managed Limerick college have a star studded squad that included five Limerick players; Adam English, Cathal O'Neill, Colin Coughlan, Mark Quinlan and Rory Duff.

UL won the Fitzgibbon Cup in 2022 after an epic battle with NUIG and will be looking to the likes of Bryan O'Mara, Cian Darcy (Tipperary) and Clare's Mark Rogers, as well as their Limerick players to help them earn their eighth title.

They will, however, be without Ballyhale Shamrocks goalkeeper Dean Mason and defender Darragh Corcoran due to their involvement in the All-Ireland Senior Club Final on Sunday. The game versus ATU Galway has a 7pm throw-in at Duggan Park in Ballinasloe.
