UL back in Sigerson action against TU Dublin

UL back in Sigerson action against TU Dublin

UL are in round two action in the Sigerson Cup this evening when they welcome TU Dublin to Maguire's Pitches.

The Limerick college earned an impressive victory in their first round game against UCC in the Mardyke and did so without 2022 Galway All-Star Jack Glynn and Mayo's Eoghan McLaughlin.

The 2-7 to 0-10 win was a surprise to many with UL down several key players from the side that got to the Sigerson Cup Final last year.

Paul Matthews and a Paul Walsh penalty accounted for the UL goals, while 0-4 from the boot of Paul Keaney saw them home to the victory.

In their opening game of the Sigerson Cup, TU Dublin earned a 1-13 to 0-9 victory over ATU Galway. The game at Maguire's has a 7pm throw-in.

There are two Limerick representatives on the UL squad, Ronan McElligott of Mungret St Pauls and John Hayes from St Kieran's.
