Minister of State Niall Collins
MINISTER of State Niall Collins has welcomed confirmation from the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine that €80,138,660.73 has been paid to support the agricultural sector in Limerick through various supports in 2025.
Nationwide, Government has spent more than €2.18 billion this year to support rural and coastal communities.
Mr Collins said: “One of our most important commitments in the Programme for Government is to protect family farm incomes and ensure vital farm supports are protected and expanded.
"Over €80 million has been paid out by the Department of Agriculture to protect Limerick's agricultural sector this year.
"These payments are not just financial supports; they are an investment in the future of rural Ireland and help farmers work sustainably in the face of growing pressure from climate change, rising costs and market uncertainty,” said Mr Collins.
