THE University Concert Hall has announced the next Limerick Classical Concert Series, offering three exceptional concerts early this year.
Presented by Liz Nolan of RTÉ lyric fm, the series promises unforgettable classical performances featuring some of the most exciting classical artists from Ireland and beyond.
The series starts with an opening concert on Sunday, February 9 at 3.30pm by renowned pianist Michael McHale and acclaimed clarinettist Michael Collins. The pair will bring a diverse and enchanting selection to the stage, including Brahms' Clarinet Sonata No. 1, Weber's Grand Duo Concertante, Beethoven's iconic Moonlight Sonata, Poulenc's Clarinet Sonata, and a special performance of Rhapsodos by Abbie Bethinis.

Next, join internationally celebrated soprano Celine Byrne for a magical afternoon concert on Sunday, March 9 at 3:30pm. Celine will perform a diverse and stirring programme of well-loved songs from opera, operetta, musicals, and sacred music, including favourites like "Nella Fantasia," "O Mio Babbino Caro," and "Ave Maria," accompanied by David Munro (piano), Nicole Hudson (violin), and Siobhan Lynch (cello).

The series concludes with an unforgettable performance by the ConTempo Quartet, who have been performing together since 1995, on Sunday, March 30 at 3:30pm.
Known for their exceptional performances, the ConTempo Quartet will perform Mozart’s String Quartet in D minor K.421, Rhona Clarke's Pas de Quatre (written especially for the ConTempo Quartet), and Beethoven’s String Quartet in E minor Op.59 No.2 (from his Rasoumovsky cycle of string quartets).
