RIP: Limerick deaths and funeral details, Friday, February 6

The death has occurred of Patrick Hourigan

Of Reask, Pallasgreen and Murroe, Limerick

On February 5, 2026 peacefully at Milford Hospice. Predeceased by his brother Joe and sister Margaret. Sadly missed by his loving wife Mary, daughters Anna and Madeline, sons Jimmy, Thomas, Johnny, and Gerard and Rachel, daughters in law, sons in law, grandchildren, sisters Sr. Collette and Gay, sister in law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Rest in peace

Reposing at Ryan and White’s Funeral Home, Pallasgreen on Sunday, February 8, from 5pm to 7pm. Arriving on Monday, February 9 to the Church of St John the Baptist, Nicker, for requiem Mass at 11.30am, followed by burial in St Columba's Cemetery, Pallasgreen. Family flowers only please, donations if desired to Milford Care Centre.

The death has occurred of John Paul Murphy

Of Athlacca and Wolverhampton, Britain, who passed away peacefully on the January 29, 2026.

Beloved father of his daughter Leah, predeceased by his mother Mary, father Mick, and his brother Paddy Boss.

Sadly missed and fondly remembered by his brothers Billy, Jim, Harry, Pete, Mikey, Jerry, Ned, his sister Mary, Leah’s partner Jake, nieces, nephews, grandnephews, grandnieces, extended family, and a wide circle of friends.

May his gentle soul rest in peace

Funeral will take place in St Michael’s Church in Wolverhampton on the February 20, 2026 at 11am.

Memorial Mass will take place in Athlacca Church at a later date.

The death has occurred of Kevin Ryan

Of Ballinacurra Gardens. Late of Krups and Shannon Aerospace.

On February 6, 2026 peacefully surrounded by his loving family at University Hospital Limerick.

Beloved husband of Lilian, Dearly loved father of David, Lesley and Laura. Sadly missed by Lesley and Laura's partners Frank and Dave, his cherished grandson Cian, nephews, nieces, extended family and friends. Predeceased by his brothers Jim, Jospeh, Billy and Sean, sisters Rita and Mary.

May he rest in peace.

Reposing at Thompson’s Funeral Home, Thomas Street on Tuesday, February 10 from 5pm to 6.30pm followed by removal to Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Childer's Road. Requiem Mass will take place on Wednesday, February 11 at 11am followed by cremation service in Shannon Crematorium at 1pm.

The death has occurred of Josephine (Josie) Wilmott (née Dalton)

Of Altavilla, Askeaton

Peacefully at Abbot Close Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her loving husband Paddy and brother Johnny. Sadly missed by her daughters Mary and Ann, son Michael, brother Jimmy, sister Mary, grandchildren Michelle, Pakie, Jamie, Lisa, great-grandchildren Daisy, Nelly, Franky, and Minnie, nephews, nieces, sons-in-law Donal and Declan, extended family, neighbours and friends.

May Josie rest in peace.

Reposing in Cappagh Church on Sunday evening, February 8 from 5.30-7p.m. Requiem Mass on Monday at 12noon followed by burial in Lismakeera cemetery.
