The death has occurred of Mary Scanlan (née Kenneally), Gortnaclohy, Ballagh, Ashford and formerly of Mountplummer, Broadford, Co. Limerick.

Peacefully in her 94th year on 10th January 2026 at University Hospital Tralee after a short illness, surrounded by her loving family. 

Beloved wife of the late Sean. Predeceased by her parents William and Nora Kenneally and brother-in-law Patsy. Sadly missed by her daughter Mary Casey (Abbeyfeale), son William (Kilcornan), son-in-law John, daughter-in-law Cora, sisters Hannah O'Shea, Nellie Scanlan, Nora Kelly and Rita O'Keeffe, brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, grandchildren Sean, Dylan, Rachel and Eleanor, great-grandchildren Kieran, Chloe, Killian, Dean Martin and Juileanna, nephews, nieces, good friend Annie Larkin, relatives and friends.

Rest in Peace

Reposing at Sextons Funeral Home, Broadford on Monday 12th January from 6pm with Removal at 8pm to St. Ita's Church, Ashford. Requiem Mass on Tuesday 13th January at 12 noon, which can be viewed through the Funeral Service link. Burial in Killeedy Cemetery.

The death has occurred of Peig Ryan (née Carberry), Rath, Murroe, Co. Limerick & Cappamore, Co. Limerick. Founding member of Craobh Pheig Uí Riain Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann.

Peacefully, in her 103rd year surrounded by her loving family at St. Anthony’s Nursing Home, Pallasgreen, Co. Limerick on Saturday 10th January 2026.

Beloved wife of the late Mick and mother of her late dearest daughter Theo.

Pre-deceased by her parents Patrick and Margaret, brothers Mick-Joe and Tom, sisters in law Nancy and Kathleen Carberry, Mary Power, and Cathy Moloney, brothers in law Pakie, Eddie and Anthony Ryan.

Sadly missed by her daughter Mairéad, sons Gerard, Paudie and Mike, daughters in law Mary, Mary and Helen, her sister Marie O Donnell and Marie’s husband John, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and wider Comhaltas friends and musicians.

Reposing at Meehan’s Funeral Home, Cappamore on Tuesday evening 13th January from 6pm to 8pm. Requiem mass on Wednesday 14th January at 11:30am in the Holy Rosary Church, Murroe, for her musical celebration with burial afterwards in Doon Cemetery.

The death has occurred of Paddy O’Connor, Lynwood Park, St. Patrick’s Road, Limerick City. Late Superintendent, C.I.E. and lifetime member, Young Munster R.F.C.

Peacefully, at University Hospital Limerick, after the tender care of Athlunkard Nursing Home, on 10th January 2026.

Predeceased by his beloved wife Ann and recently by his daughter Ann.

Paddy will be sadly missed by his loving children Sean, Margaret, Caroline, Billy and Audrey, sons-in-law Padraig and Liam, daughters-in-law Joan and Sharon, grandchildren Melissa, Rory, Hazel, Mark Jacqueline, David, Suzanne and Niamh, his thirteen great-grandchildren, brother Aeneas, sisters Maura, Annette, Kay and Ursula, extended family and friends.

Reposing at Griffin’s Funeral Home, John’s Gate, on Tuesday, 13th January from 4:30pm to 6pm. Funeral arriving at St. Michael’s Church, Denmark Street on Wednesday, 14th January for Requiem Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in Castlemungret Cemetery, Mungret.

It is with deep sorrow we announce the death of William John Hughes, Billy, Coolistigue, Clonlara, Co. Clare, who passed away suddenly and peacefully at home on 10th January 2026.

Beloved husband of Mary and loving father of Stephen, Claire, Áine and Caitríona.

Deeply regretted by his wife, children, sisters Marion and Teresa, brother Jim, and extended family. Billy was a kind and intelligent man, and a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin, nephew, neighbours and friends.

Peacefully, at University Hospital Limerick, on 11th January 2026.

Sadly missed by her heartbroken parents John and Breda, loving sister Natalie and brothers John and Raymond, nephews John, Ross, Conor and Aaron, brother-in-law Henry, aunt Phil, uncles David and Bob, cousins, extended family and her many friends.

Reposing at Griffin’s Funeral Home, John’s Gate, on Tuesday, 13th January from 6:30pm to 8pm. Funeral arriving at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, Janesboro on Wednesday, 14th January for Requiem Mass at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in Mount St. Oliver Cemetery.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of James (Jimmy) Barrett, Ballingaddy North, Kilmallock, Co. Limerick, January 10th 2026, very peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loving family. 

Beloved son of the late Maurice and Ellen, beloved brother of the late Eileen, Nora, Peggy, John, Tony, Mossie, Joe and Maurice. 

Very deeply regretted and sadly missed by his sisters Kathleen, Mary, Ann and Frances (O'Meara), brothers in law, nephews, nieces, grand nephews, grand nieces, great grandniece, cousins, relatives, kind neighbours and his many friends.

Reposing this Monday evening, 12th, from 6pm at Daffy's Funeral Home, KiImallock, concluding with evening prayers at 7.30pm. Removal to arrive Tuesday for 12 noon graveside service at Ballingaddy graveyard.
