RIP: Limerick deaths and funeral details, Monday, December 22

Deaths in Limerick: Monday, October 14, 2024

The death has occurred of Mary O’Donnell (nee Cox) of St Francis Avenue, Askeaton, Co Limerick and formerly of Kilmurry, Sixmilebridge, Co Clare. 

Peacefully, on 21st December, 2025, in the care of University Hospital Limerick following a long illness borne with courage and bravery.

Predeceased by her beloved husband Tommy.

Sadly missed by her loving sons John, Thomas and Patrick, daughters-in-law Mary and Eva, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, nephews, relatives and great neighbours.

May she Rest In Peace.

Reposing at Kieran Madigan’s Funeral Home, Main Street, Askeaton V94 K598 on Tuesday evening 23rd December from 4.30 to 6pm. Arriving at St Mary’s Church, Askeaton on Wednesday 24th December for Requiem Mass at 11am.

Burial afterwards in Beagh Cemetery Ballysteen.

The death has occurred of Ita McNulty (née Broderick) Springwood, Mallow and formerly of New Street, Abbeyfeale, Co. Limerick, who passed away peacefully on December 21st 2025, at the Mercy University Hospital, Cork.

Beloved wife of the late Martin, dear mother of Séamus, Máire and Brian.

Predeceased by her brothers Seán and Jimmy and sisters Margaret and Joan.

Sadly missed by her loving family, daughters-in-law Caroline and Nora, grandchildren Laura, Mark, Kate, Aoife, Dáire and Caoimhe, great-grandchild Cooper, and Laura’s partner Stephen, sisters-in-law Angela and Peggy, nieces Marie-Thérèse and Siobhán, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam.

Lying in repose at O'Connell's Funeral Home, St. James' Avenue, Mallow (P51 HH61) on Tuesday (December 23rd) from 5.30pm with Prayers at 7pm followed by Removal to St. Mary's Church, Mallow.

Requiem Mass on Wednesday (Christmas Eve) at 2pm which may be viewed on www.churchservices.tv/mallow.

Funeral afterwards to St. Gobnait's Cemetery, Mallow.

The family would like to take this opportunity to thank the Home Care team particularly Jenny, Bridget, Rachel and Ann, staff at Mallow Day Care/ the Alzheimer’s Society, staff of Nazareth House, the doctors, nurses and staff of the Mercy University Hospital and the Medical Centre Mallow who took such great care of Ita.

The death has occurred of Rose Fahey (nee Hartnett), Ballyvouden, Kilteely, Co. Limerick,  who died on December 20th 2025, peacefully. 

Predeceased by her husband John and her father Tommy.

Sadly missed by her loving daughters Lisa and Tara, son Sean, mother Bridie, grandchild Nathan, sons-in-law, daughter-in-law, brothers Tom, Joe, Pat, Martin, Kieran and Marcus, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Rest in peace.

Reposing at Cil Bhride Community Hall, Kilteely on Tuesday evening (23rd December) from 5 pm until 7 pm. Arriving in St. Patrick & St. Brigid's Church, Kilteely Wednesday morning at 11 am for Requiem Mass at 11.30 am with burial afterwards in Old Pallas Cemetery.

The death has occurred of James Brouder, Ballinahown, Monagea, Co Limerick.

Peacefully at home on December 22, 2025.

Predeceased by his wife, Louise Brouder, his sisters, Joan McEnery, Eileen Thomson, and his brother, Thomas Brouder.

Sadly missed by his loving daughter, Jessica, son-in-law, Graig Sutherland, his adored grandchildren, Woody and Ernie, sisters Mary Flynn, Ann Cusack, brothers Daniel Brouder, Noel Brouder, Jerry Brouder, Michael Brouder, and John Brouder, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and relatives.

May Jim’s gentle soul rest in peace.

Reposing at his brother Michael’s residence in Arranagh, Monagea on Tuesday, December 23d and then to Reidy’s funeral home from 6pm to 730pm. Arriving for funeral Mass in Monagea Church, Wednesday, 24th of December at 11:30am. Followed by burial in Monagea Cemetery.

The death has occurred of Pat Broderick, Parkview, Ballyshannon, Co. Donegal, formerly from Abbeyfeale, Co. Limerick.

Peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Predeceased by his beloved son Patrick.

Sadly missed by his loving wife Rosaleen, daughter Sarah, son Joe, son-in-law Nick, grandchildren Jack, Sam and Lauren, brothers Con and Mossie, sisters Joane, Breda and Noreen, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, extended family, neighbours and many friends.
