RIP: Limerick deaths and funeral details, Wednesday, December 10

The death has occurred of Donal (Donie) Corbett, late of Albatera, Spain and Barrigone, Limerick on December 9, peacefully at his home in Albatera surrounded by his loving family following a long illness so bravely borne. 

Sadly missed and cherished always by his wife Patsy, sons and daughters; David, Melanie, Sarah and Andrew; their partners and families; Ilona, Gary, Ivan and Sarah, Ángel, Cian, Evan, Edana, Sam, Abby and Sadie. 

His adoring sisters; Ann and Corinne, brothers and sisters in law, all his much loved nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.

Private family funeral in Albatera Crematorio La Luz with a gathering for the celebration of Donie's life in the summer of 2026 in Ireland, arrangements to be advised at a future date.

The death has occurred of Emma Dillon, Glenstal Gate, Murroe, Co Limerick formerly of Castletroy View, Limerick, on December 5 in the presence of her loving family at UHL.

Sadlly missed by her loving husband Paul, son Charlie, daughter Eliza, parents Eamon and Eileen, sisters in law, mother in law, aunts, uncles, relatives and friends.

Reposing at Meehan’s Funeral Home Newport on Thursday, December 11 from 5.30 to 7pm. Arriving on Friday, December 12 to the Holy Rosary Church Murroe for Requiem Mass at 12.30pm followed by cremation at 3pm in Shannon Crematorium.

The death has occurred of Matthew Kennedy late of Brookville Avenue, Clareview, Limerick, on December 9 peacefully at University Hospital Limerick. 

Beloved son of the late Matt and Madge. Cherished brother of Anthony, Colm, Joe and Mary. Sadly missed by his extended family and friends. 

In respect to Matt’s wishes a private funeral will be held.

The death has occurred of Joseph Francis O’Keeffe, Cragg, Mountcollins, Abbeyfeale, Co Limerick and recently of Killeline Care Centre, Newcastle West, Co Limerick, in his 90th year, following a brief admission at University Hospital Limerick on Friday, November 28.

Joseph is predeceased by his beloved parents Michael and Margaret, sister Kathleen and brother Michael.

Joseph was a kind and gentle soul who was much loved by all who knew him. Joseph will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his adoring sisters Joan, Maureen and Peggy, his many nieces and nephews and wider family members along with his wonderful friends and neighbours. 

Reposing at Harnett’s Funeral Home, The Square, Abbeyfeale (V94 AK44) on Friday, December 12 from 6pm until 7.30pm.

Removal on Saturday, December 13 to The Church of The Assumption, Mountcollins, to arrive for Requiem Mass at 11am. Interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

The death has occurred of Theresa (Tess) Lyons (née Howlett), Beechwood Gardens, Newcastle West, Limerick, peacefully on December 9 in Beechwood House Nursing Home, Newcastle West.

Predeceased by her husband Tom. Sadly missed by her daughters Cathy, Denise and Suzanne. Sons-in-law Mike and Kieran, friend Audrey, grand-children Thomas, Sarah, Jamie, Michaela, Lelia and Rebecca, great-grand-daughters Robyn and Erin, family, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Riedy's Funeral Home on Friday, December 12 from 6pm until 7.30pm. Arriving to The Church of Immaculate Conception, Newcastle West at 8pm. Requiem Mass is on Saturday, December 13 at 11.30am with burial afterwards at Churchtown Cemetery, Newcastle West.
