Limerick deaths and funeral details

The death has occurred of Breda Carew (née Grogan), Rusheen, Holycross, Bruff, Co Limerick and formerly Of The Glen Of Aherlow, Co Tipperary, peacefully at home the November 12, in her 93rd year, surrounded by her loving family.

Predeceased by her husband John, her daughter Catherine (Katie) Fitzpatrick, her great granddaughter Sloane, her brother John, sister Anne and son in law Jimmy O'Shea. 

Sadly missed by her daughters Mary Connolly, Alice O'Shea, Breda Tierney, Ann O'Keeffe, Tracy Carroll her sons John, Martin and Malachy, brothers Paddy and Malachy Grogan, sons in law, daughters in law, nieces, nephews, 24 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, relatives and many neighbours and friends.

Breda will be reposing at Davern's Funeral Home, Hospital, Co Limerick (V35XV96), this Thursday evening, November 13 from 5pm to 7pm, removal afterwards to St Patrick's Church, Lough Gur.

Requiem mass on Friday, November 14 at 11.30am with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

The death has occurred of Sr Angela Keogh (auntie Girlie), Sisters of Mercy, St Mary's Convent, Nenagh, Co Tipperary and formerly of Curraghnaboul, Dromkeen, Co Limerick, peacefully, in Nenagh Hospital, in her 100th year, on November 11.

Predeceased by her parents Patrick and Mai (nee Quirke), her sisters Peggy, Alice and Molly and her brothers Con, Mick, Fr Stephen and Billy. 

Deeply regretted by her nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, her Mercy Community, relatives and friends.

Reposing on Thursday, November 13 at Ryan's Funeral Home, Nenagh (E45 KN93), from 5pm until 7pm. Funeral arriving on Friday, November 14 to St Mary of the Rosary Church, Nenagh (E45 YH29), for funeral Mass at 12 noon, followed by burial in the Convent Cemetery.

The death has occurred of Michael McNamara, Stenson Park, Farranshone, Limerick, peacefully, in the tender care of St Camillus’ Hospital, on November 1.

Formerly of Munster Rugby Supporters Club Choir and late member of Limerick Lawn Tennis Club. 

Deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his loving wife Colette, cherished children Ian and Amanda, adored grandchildren Ava, Ben, and Charlie, daughter-in-law Mary, son-in-law Rory, brother Christy, sister Frances, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours, and many friends

Reposing at Griffin’s Funeral Home, John’s Gate on Thursday, November 13 from 7pm-8pm. Funeral arriving at St Munchin’s Church, Clancy Strand on Friday, November 14 for Requiem Mass at 1pm. Burial afterwards in Castlemungret Cemetery, Mungret.

The death has occurred of James Meade, Bulgadenhall, Bulgaden, Kilmallock, Co Limerick and formerly of Smith's Street, Charleville, Co Cork, on November 11, very peacefully at Maria Goretti Nursing Home, Kilmallock.

Predeceased by his parents Cecil and Mary and his sister Rita (Lynch).

Very deeply regretted by his sorrowing sister Josephine, his niece Catherine (Galway), nephews Michael and JJ, Catherine's husband David and their children Adam, Conor and Kaitlyn, his special friend Betty, cousins, relatives, very kind neighbours, especially the Fitzpatricks, and his many friends. 

Reposing this Thursday evening, November 13, from 6.30pm at Daffy's Funeral Home, Kilmallock, followed by evening prayers at 7.30pm. Removal to arrive Friday, NOvember 14 for 12noon Requiem Mass at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Bulgaden, followed by burial afterwards to Kilmallock Cemetery.

The death has occurred of Rita Shanahan (née O’Connor), Shanahan’s Bar, Mungret, Co Limerick on November 10 peacefully at St Luke’s Hospital, Kilkenny, surrounded by her loving family.

Wife of the late Eddie. Dearly loved mother of Mary, Edwina, Thomas and Jim. Sadly missed by her loving son-in-law Declan, daughter-in-law Jean, her adored grandchildren Grace, Jim, Hannah, Ada, Eugene, John and Phoebe, sisters-in-law Nora, Joan and Kathleen, nephews, nieces, extended family and friends.

Reposing at Saint Oliver Plunkett Church, Mungret on Thursday, November 13 from 5.30pm to 7pm. Requiem Mass will take place on Friday, November 14 at 11.30am followed by burial in Kilkeedy Cemetery.
