Charitable ‘gnome in a small vehicle’ will visit Allianz Limerick Hurling Final

With three wheels and a sense of adventure, Dean Lambert will stop at Limerick for the Allianz Hurling Final with his tuk tuk in tow for charity

A MAN who is travelling the coast of Ireland in a tuk tuk will descend on the TUS Gaelic Grounds for the Allianz Hurling Final.

On Sunday, April 5, Dean Lambert will be traversing Limerick in his pink and white three-wheeled rickshaw, as part of his 2,000 mile trip around the coast of Ireland for the charity Boot Out Breast Cancer.

The man has described himself on his YouTube channel (Monkey Dix) as “just a bloke who looks like an overgrown garden gnome in a small vehicle”.

Mr Lambert has assured his audience that the rickshaw is perfectly legal, and can drive up to a speed of 42 miles per hour.

Before embarking on his trip he asked: “What could possibly go wrong?”

“It’s not the most sensible vehicle for a journey like this, but that’s part of the appeal,” said Dean.

The man added that the journey is a “great way to see the coastline and have conversations with people you wouldn’t normally meet”.

Charity founder and breast cancer survivor Debbie Downie has thanked Mr Lambert for his efforts.
