RIP: Limerick deaths and funeral details, Wednesday, August 20

The death has occurred of PJ Bartley of Brothers of Charity, The Forts, Doon, Limerick and formerly of Grange Cross, Boher, Limerick.

On August 20 2025, peacefully, at University Hospital Limerick, surrounded by his loving family.

Pre-deceased by his parents Patrick and Nora.

Very deeply regretted by his brothers Lawrence and Michael, sister-in-law Eilìs, nephews Patrick and Lawrence, niece Maeve, aunt Bernie, all his cousins and his wider family within the Brothers of Charity Services.

May he Rest in Peace

Reposing at Our Lady of Limerick Church, Bawnmore, Thursday, August 21, from 5.30pm to 7pm.

Funeral will arrive Friday, August 22, at St Nicholas' Church, Boher for Requiem Mass at 11.30am, streamed live here 

Funeral afterwards to Caherconlish (old) Cemetery, Main Street, Caherconlish.

The Bartley family would like to acknowledge and thank the Management and Staff of the Brothers of Charity for their exceptional care and support of PJ over the years.

The death has occurred of Breda Maher of Melbar, St Conlon's Road, Nenagh, Tipperary, formerly of Tullaheady and late of Highfield, Ennis Road, Limerick.

Former tutor School of Nursing at St Joseph's Psychiatric Services, Limerick and Daughters of Charity, Lisnagry.

Breda, died peacefully, at home, on August 19, 2025.

Predeceased by her parents Denis and Mary Kate Maher, brothers Pat and Seamus, sister Mary Mangan and brothers-in-law Frank and Liam.

Sadly missed by her loving family, sisters Eileen and Anne (Gleeson), brother Denis, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Reposing on Thursday, August 21, at her home, from 2pm until 5pm.

Funeral arriving on Thursday evening to St Mary of the Rosary Church, Nenagh (E45 YH29), at 7.30pm.

Funeral Mass on Friday at 11am, followed by burial in Lisboney Cemetery.

May she Rest in Peace.


The death has occurred of Cornelius (Dick, Con) O'Connor of Oakview Drive, Ballinacurra, Limerick and formerly of Edward Street, Limerick.

Ex Howmedica and Limerick United Football Club.

On August 19 2025, peacefully, at St John’s Hospital Limerick, surrounded by his loving family.

Beloved husband of the late Marie and much loved father of Lillian, Deborah, Mark, Neil, Liam, Craig, Derek and the late Albert.

Sadly missed by his adored grandchildren Ryan, Adam, Jake, Ben, Kody, Megan, Culainn, Harrison, Keegan, Kingston, Alex and Erin, daughters-in-law Lorraine, Lisa and Sharon, son-in-law Derek, nephews, nieces, other relatives, friends and neighbours.

May he Rest in Peace

Reposing at Cross’s Funeral Home, Gerald Griffin Street, Thursday, August 21, from 6.30pm to 8pm, followed by removal to Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Childers Road.

Requiem Mass Friday, August 22, at 11am, funeral afterwards to Mount St Oliver Cemetery.

The O’Connor Family would like to thank the Staff of the First and Second Floors of St John’s Hospital and to the Staff of St Paul’s Nursing Home, Dooradoyle for their exceptional care, support and kindness.
