RIP: Limerick deaths and funeral details, Friday, July 4, 2025

The death has occurred of Terry Allen. 

Of Ballinagool, Croagh and late of Rathbane. Formerly of Limerick Corporation.

On July 3, 2025, peacefully, at Milford Care Centre, surrounded by his family.

Pre-deceased by parents Edward and Margaret (Nita) and brothers David and Tony.

Very deeply regretted by brother Paddy, sister Alice, brother-in-law Val, nephews, nieces, extended family and friends.

May he rest in peace

Reposing at Cross's Funeral Home, Gerald Griffin Street, Saturday, July 5, from 3.30pm to 5pm, followed by removal to St John the Baptist Church Croagh. Requiem Mass Sunday, July 6, at 1.30pm, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

The death has occurred of James Foley

Of Mornane, Askeaton and Charleville, Cork

On July 3, 2025, peacefully, surrounded by his family at Milford Care Home. James dearly loved husband of Nan, much loved father of Liz, Dan, Maurice, Sinead, Katy, Niall and Kevin.

Sadly missed by his wife, children, their spouses and partners, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, relatives and friends.

Predeceased by his brothers Dave and John and his first wife Eilish.

May he rest in peace.

Reposing at his home in Mornane, Askeaton V94 VKW4 on Saturday, July 5 from 3pm to 7pm. Arriving at St. John the Baptist Church Kilcornan, on Sunday, July 6 for requiem Mass at 1pm. The requiem Mass will be live-streamed on  https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100057134452769 . Burial afterwards in Holy Cross Cemetery, Charleville.

Family flowers only, donations in lieu to Milford Care Centre.

The death has occurred of James (Jim) Meehan

Of Sycamore Ave Rathbane, London, Kildimo and New Jersey

James (Jim) Meehan passed away peacefully at his residence in Brick New Jersey, USA on July 2. He will be sadly missed by his wife Phil, sons Christopher and Jamie, daughters-in-law Lindsay and Mary, grandchildren and brothers.

Funeral Mass will take place in Brick NJ on Tuesday July 8 at 10.00am. Mass will be offered locally at St. Joseph's Church Kildimo on Friday, July 11 at 10.00am.

The death has occurred of Philippa Jane Sutherland (née Cranfield)

Passed away on June 16, 2025, after a year-long illness, which she bore with quiet courage.

She remained beautifully resilient and her gentle self to the end.

Artist Philippa will be deeply missed by her cousins and many friends in England, Ireland and beyond.

Predeceased by her sister Shena, and her parents, Philip and Vera.

Her memory lives on in her paintings and in our hearts.

The funeral will take place on Thursday, July 24, 2025 at 2pm at Westbury Cemetery Chapel, Bratton Road, Westbury, BA13 3EB.

The death has occurred of Paddy Hoare

Of Shannon Lawn, North Circular Road, Limerick and Moylough, Galway

Peacefully at his home on July 2, 2025 surrounded by his loving family.

Pre-deceased by his brothers Jimmy and Fr Michael, sisters Maisie, Terry, Anne and Katy. Beloved husband of Mary, dearly loved father of Pat, Mai, John and Mike. Sadly missed by his son-in-law Mark, daughters-in-law Siobhan, Denise, B.J. (deceased), his adored grandchildren Jack, Jane, Patrick, Kate, Meg, Mikey, Hugh, Stuart, Rory, Mark, Joe, Max, his great grandchildren, Paddy, Hugh, Clara, Jonjo, Jack, Josie and Mia, his sister Angela, together with extended family and friends.

Arriving at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Ennis Road on Saturday, July 5 for requiem Mass at 12 noon followed by burial at Old Kilmurry Cemetery, Castletroy.
