Deaths in Limerick: Sunday, February 18, 2024

The death has occurred of Pius O'Connell, Fermoy Taxi Service, Fermoy and formerly Bawnmore, Ardpatrick, Co. Limerick.

Pius passed away suddenly on February 16th at Cork University Hospital Cork. Beloved son of the late Colman and Margaret, dear brother of Tom, Pat, Anne, Kathleen, Kieran and Mary, father of Robert, Patrick, Colman, Kate and Breda. Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his family, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, his loyal colleagues at Fermoy Taxi Service, neigbours and many friends.

Rest in peace.

Pius will repose at Ronayne's Funeral Home Fermoy. Visitation Monday from 6.00.pm until 7.30.pm. Reception into St. Patrick's Church Fermoy Tuesday for Requiem Mass at 12 noon burial afterwards in Kildorrery Cemetery.

The death has occurred of Richard (Richie) Murphy, Demesne, Mitchelstown and formerly of Kilgarriff, Ballylanders and ex Grainstore, Dairygold.

On February 18th, 2024, peacefully, at Mallow General Hospital.

Beloved husband of the Late Mary (nee McDonnell) and loving father of James and Esther and grandad of Kayleigh and Hazel.

Sadly missed by his loving family, daughter-in-law Lisa, son-in-law Alan, brother Tom, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours, former work colleagues and friends.

Reposing at the Chapel of Rest, Baldwin Street, Mitchelstown, P67 DX81, on Monday (19th February) from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Reception into St. Joseph’s Church, Killacluig, P67 A996 on Tuesday (20th February) for Requiem Mass at 12 noon.

Peacefully at University Hospital Limerick surrounded by her loving family.

Pre-deceased by her brothers Pat and John.

Reposing in Cross's Funeral Home Ballyneety this Tuesday evening from 5 to 7pm.

Arriving Wednesday for 11.30am requiem mass in Our Lady, Mother of the Church, Caherconlish

with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

The death has occurred of Maura Maher (née Aherne), Mayorstone Crescent, Limerick and late of Sexton Street North, Thomondgate.

On February 17th 2024, peacefully in the care of St Camillus'

Pre-deceased by her husband Eamonn and her sons Christopher, Raymond and William and her sisters Geraldine and Ann.

Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her daughters Cathriona and Nora, sons-in-law Damian and Jason, her grandchildren Niamh, Aisling, Ronán, Calvin, Jordan, Brandon, Nathan, sisters Patsy and Carmel, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, other relatives, friends and neighbours

Reposing at Cross' Funeral Home, Gerald Griffin Street, on Tuesday February 20th, from 4.30pm to 6pm.

Funeral will arrive on Wednesday, February 21st, at St. Munchin’s Church, Clancy Strand for Requiem Mass at 1pm, funeral afterwards to Mount St. Lawrence Cemetery (Extension).

The death has occurred of Pat Madigan, Killeaney, Glin, Limerick.

Pat passed away peacefully but unexpectedly, surrounded by his family, at University Hospital Limerick on February 16th 2024.

Pat is predeceased by his parents Paddy and Mary, and his brothers Jim and Frank.

Pat will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his loving wife Noreen, his son Patrick, daughter Keara, son in law Paraic (Kilcoyne), daughter in law Lorraine, adored grandchildren Oisín, Sophie, Lily, Fiadh, Darragh and Caoimhe, his sisters Catherine (Kennedy), Ellen (Luka) and Maureen (Darrigan), sisters in law, brothers in law, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives, extended family, neighbours and a large circle of friends.

Rest in Peace.

Pat will repose in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Glin on this Tuesday evening (February 20th) from 6pm until 8pm. Pat's funeral cortege will arrive at the Church of the Immaculate Conception on Wednesday morning at 11:45am for Requiem Mass at 12noon. Interment to follow at Kilfergus Cemetery Glin.

The death has occurred of Frances Herbert, (née Lynch), The Orchard, Abbeyfeale and formerly of St. Ita’s Terrace, Abbeyfeale, Co. Limerick and Reading, U.K.

Frances passed away peacefully, but unexpectedly at home on Saturday, 17th February 2024, in the presence of her loving daughter Michelle and son-in-law Steve.

Frances, daughter of the late Jack and Frances Lynch, is very sadly missed by her cherished daughter Michelle, son-in-law Steve, grandchildren Kieran and Shannon, her eight great-grandchildren, sisters, brother, nieces and nephews.

Removal on Tuesday, 20th February to The Church of The Assumption Abbeyfeale to arrive for Requiem Mass at 11.00 a.m.
