The death has occurred of Joan AHERNE (née Larkin) of School Road, Carrigkerry, Limerick.

Joan died peacefully, on October 24 2023, at University Hospital Limerick.

Deeply regretted by her loving husband Jim, daughters Sandra, Martina, Patricia and Joanne, sister Ann, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sons-in-law, nephews and nieces, relatives and friends.

May She Rest in Peace.

Reposing at Riedy's Funeral Home, Newcastle West, on Thursday, October 26, from 6pm to 8pm. Arriving at Carrigkerry Church on Friday morning, October 27, for 11.30am requiem Mass. Burial afterwards in Calvary Cemetery, Newcastle West. Messages of condolence can be offered through the link below.

The death has occurred of Margaret (Peg) AYLWARD of Gortboy, Newcastle West, Limerick.

Formerly of Gortboy, Newcastle West, Margaret passed away peacefully, in the loving care of the staff at Beechwood House Nursing Home, Newcastle West, on Tuesday, October 24 2023. Deeply regretted by her sister Brid (Somers), sister-in-law Phil, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at the Aylward family home, Gortboy, Newcastle West, on Wednesday, October 25, from 5pm to 8pm.  Arriving at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Newcastle West, on Thursday at 11.15am for Requiem Mass at 11.30am. Burial afterwards in Dromcollogher Cemetery.

The death has occurred of James Patrick COLLINS of Drominboy Lower, Lisnagry, Limerick.


He passed peacefully on October 22 2023, peacefully after a short illness in the presence of his loved ones at Millbrae Lodge Nursing Home, Newport. Sadly missed by his loving family, extended family, relatives and friends.

Rest in Peace.

Reposing at Meehan’s Funeral Home, Newport on Thursday, October 26 from 5.30 to 7 p.m. Arriving to St. Patrick’s Church, Ahane on Friday, October 27 for Requiem Mass at 11 am. followed by cremation in Shannon Crematorium at 2 pm.

The death has occurred of Frank COLLOPY of Dunbane, Carrick-on-Suir, Tipperary and  formerly of Limerick City.

Late of 19 Dunbane, Carrick on Suir, Co. Tipperay and formerly of Myle's Street, Limerick.

Frank passed away on October 23 2023.

Predeceased by his wife Dodo, deeply regretted by his loving children Susan, Sherry and Anthony, brothers, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, sons-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandchildren Scott, Claire, Joe, James, Lauren, Chloe and Frankie, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

May Frank Rest in Peace. 

Frank will be reposing at his home on Wednesday, October 25 2023, from 5pm to 7pm.

Frank will be arriving at St Nicholas' Church, Carrick on Suir, on Thursday, October 26, for requiem Mass at 10.30am followed by burial afterwards in St Mary's Cemetery.

The death has occurred of Mairéad GREENE (née Hayes) of Castletroy Heights, Castletroy, Limerick.


Former Lady Captain & President of Castletroy Golf Club.

Mairéad passed away peacefully, in University Hospital Limerick, on October 25, 2023.

Beloved wife of Tom (Tommy), dearest mother of Maria and the late Tommy and sister of Maura, Padraig, Liam, Michael, Tom and the late Sean & Una.

Sadly missed by her loving husband, daughter, siblings, grandchildren Ashley, Megan, Kate & Orlaith, great-granddaughter Riley, daughter-in-law Sandy, son-in-law Donal, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives & many friends.

Reposing at Griffin’s Funeral Home, John’s Gate, on Wednesday, October 25, from 5pm to 6.30pm. Arriving at Our Lady Help of Christians Church, Milford, on Thursday, 26th October, for Requiem Mass at 11am. Funeral afterwards to Shannon Crematorium.

The death has occurred of Rose McMahon of Love Lane, Charleville, Cork and late of Mountblakeney, Kilmallock, Co. Limerick.

Rose passed away peacefully in the presence of her loving family in the University Hospital Limerick on Monday, October 23, 2023.

Beloved daughter of Mary and the late Paddy and much loved mother of Sarah and Sinead.

Deeply regretted by her mother, daughters, brothers Tony, Pat and Val, sisters Claire, Theresa, Helen and the late Angela, brothers-in-law Paddy and Martin, nephews, nieces, relatives, kind neighbours and friends.

Reposing in Hawe - O'Keeffe's Funeral Home (P56 YY15), Bakers Road, Charleville, on Wednesday evening from 6pm to 7:30pm (Prayers at 6:00pm).

Reception into St. Patrick's Church, Garrienderk on Thursday morning for Requiem Mass at noon, after which Rose will be laid to rest in Effin Cemetery.       

The family would like to give thanks to the nurses and staff of University Hospital Limerick for the care and generosity they showed to Rose during her time in their care.

Formerly of Leap, Co. Cork. Late of Shaws.

Willie passed peacefully on October 23 peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, at The Galway Clinic.

Beloved and cherished husband of Maureen. Dearly loved father of Kevin, David and Karen. Sadly missed by his loving son-in-law Austin, daughters-in-law Gillian and Áine, his adored grandchildren, Elise, Emily, Isabelle, Kate, Lotti, Sadie, Tess, Sam, Harry and Eve, sister Mary, brothers Michael, Martin, and Gerard, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family, friends and neighbours. Predeceased by his brother Seán and brother-in-law John.

Reposing at Thompson’s Funeral Home, Thomas Street, on Wednesday, October 25 from 5pm to 6.30pm. Funeral arriving at St. Joseph’s Church, O’Connell Avenue, on Thursday, October26 for Requiem Mass at 2pm, followed by Cremation Service in Shannon Crematorium at 4pm.
