UPDATE: Murder probe into missing Limerick woman ‘continuing at pace’

39-year-old Carrie, who is from Limerick, is known to have travelled to Enniskillen, Co Fermanagh on Saturday, October 10
THE PSNI have provided an update on the man arrested yesterday, November 3, on suspicion of murdering missing Limerick woman Carrie Mullane (Noonan).
A court extension of 36 hours has been granted for the questioning of the 35-year-old man, who remains unidentified.
In a statement, PSNI said that the investigation is progressing “at pace.”
“Detectives investigating the suspected murder of Carrie Mullane (Noonan) in the Enniskillen area have, as of this afternoon, Wednesday, 4 November, been granted a court extension of an additional 36 hours to question a man arrested on suspicion of murder.
“The investigation is continuing at pace, and there is no further information at this time.”
39-year-old Carrie, who is from Limerick, is known to have travelled to Enniskillen, Co Fermanagh on Saturday, October 10.
PSNI report that since then, there have been no confirmed sightings of her, nor has she been in touch with family or friends.
Detective Superintendent Richard Thornton from the Police Service’s Serious Crime Branch, says this is “extremely out of character” for Carrie and has led to grave concerns for her safety: “Family and friends of Carrie tell us that she is usually in almost daily contact with them and not hearing from her has caused them to fear something may have happened to her after she reached Northern Ireland.
“We know she arrived in Enniskillen by bus on the 10th, travelling with a man known to her, and from the bus depot on Wellington Road she and her companion then took a taxi to an address in Trasna Park.”
PSNI asks anyone with information to get touch by calling 101 and asking for the Major Investigation Team on extension 40374 or by quoting reference number 272 29/10/26.
Those in the Republic of Ireland should call 999 or 112.
